If only I had learned that you get what you pay for earlier in life! I'm pretty much a motor head myself and really enjoy wrenching but an unfortunate event in my life now prevents me from performing even the simplest automotive service. After trying a few of the 15.99 and 19.99 oil changes and then finding myself needing additional repairs,I learned why it was so important to find and build a relationship with a local shop. One day unexpectedly, my daughters car dash lit up like Granby Street, the transmission wouldn't shift correctly, and it would barely run. Fortunately I have been building this relationship with the guys at Automotive Specialist through ordinary service and they too, could have easily fed me some bs based on what was happening. They didn't! They thoroughly diagnoised the car and found multiple issues. Fortunately for me, the shop owner was straight up and honest, (yea there's still some out there) and explained how we could go about making repairs as sometimes issues can be closely related and even trigger other symptoms/problems that may or may not actually be an issue. Please don't get me wrong because it's not uncommon to have multiple or related failures requiring multiple fixes, but there are times it's not nearly as bad as it seems. Which was the case with mine. (thankfully) When one of your vehicles has an unexpected issue that takes it out of commission, you often have limited time and resources to make or obtain repairs. Trust me, I've been there, when those $20.00 oil changes have turned into a parts changing and over priced nightmares that didn't always resolve my problems. Not to mention probably paying for parts and service that may not have been necessary, or even performed. We all know it happens. The technicians at Automotive Specialist, who I all know on a first name basis now, have had an opportunity to get me for a little extra and I could have easily been sold on it, oddly enough, they never did. If it doesn't need it, they don't do it or try to convince you to have it done! Sounds unbelievable right, I have a hard time believing it myself but I'm fortunate enough to have experienced now. Thanks a bunch Eric, Jesse, and Tom, you guys are all top notch! Thanks for everything the past several years!
